Australian pop legend, Kate Ceberano, will rehearse for the annual Forever Young Rock Choir concert with the Girton Grammar String Orchestra and Jazz Band in preparation for the massive annual performance at Ulumbarra theatre on 20th September 2018.

With 24 albums spanning a 35-year career, Kate Ceberano possesses one of the great voices of her generation in both pop and jazz genres. Ms. Ceberano was recently awarded the Order of Australia and is the first female inducted into The Australian Songwriters Hall of Fame. She will also co-direct a new five-day wellness festival in Daylesford to take place in November.

Ms Ceberano will sing a repertoire of her songs, accompanied by the Girton Grammar String Orchestra and the Forever Young Choir, with music especially arranged for the concert by Girton Grammar instrumental teacher, Cally Bartlett.

Choir Founder and Director, Mrs Laura Dusseljee, said that the student orchestra was sounding magnificent and were very excited about performing with one of Australia’s music greats.

“This is such an amazing opportunity for our students, who over the past eight years have performed to thousands of people at this hugely popular concert.

“Our students have much to learn from performing alongside such an accomplished musician and they are very much enjoying playing Kate Ceberano’s old and newer songs.

“The students also enjoy forming friendships with choir members and great respect flows between old and young.

“The Forever Young annual concert promises to be a wonderful night of heart-warming moments for performers and audience members alike,” Mrs Dusseljee said.
