Charlie Wardrop (11A) and Jordan Rogers (11M) competed in the Semi-Finals of the Model UN Evatt Competition at Queen’s College, University of Melbourne, and won their way through to the State Finals. They will represent Kazakhstan (and Girton Grammar School) , debating three resolutions relating to the Question of Defences Against Cyber Warfare. This will take place next Wednesday, 12th September at the Victorian Legislative Council Chamber at Victorian Parliament House, Melbourne. Congratulations, a wonderful effort!
Stephanie Brunner (12Jo), Harry Shobanan (12R), Max Tulloch (11Jo), Charlie Wardrop (11A) and Jordan Rogers (11M) competed in the Debater’s Association of Victoria Schools’ Competition Octo-Finals at St Leonard’s College in Brighton and won their way through to the Quarter-Finals, to be held on Wednesday, 12th September at Lauriston Girls’ School, Armadale. They argued the affirmative case That environment scientists should reject corporate funding for research. It was tightly contested, winning by just 1 point. Congratulations Stephanie, who won equal best speaker, and congratulations team for another great effort.
